Abstract: The article presents the results of the first detailed geomorphological mapping of landforms of the Žiarska, Jamnicka, Račkova, and Bystra Valleys, situated on the southern slope of the Western Tatras. Field works were supplemented by digital topographic as well as statistical analysis of the rock glaciers distribution. The author focused on the distribution and morphological features of moraines and rock glaciers, variability of both sets of deposits strongly reflects the topographic influences on debris and snow accumulation. The main factor controlling the landforms geometry was solar irradiance modified by the influence of the local cirques topography. Two generations of the rock glaciers indicate distinct phases of periglacial conditions during the Late Glacial period.
